Third defeat for RI team

JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian women's basketball team lost to the junior Cantonese team 58-86 in a friendly match on Friday in the Kuala Lumpur Southeast Asian (SEA) Games warm-up.

Team manager Max B. Lani said despite the defeat, his players showed some improvement since losing their first match to the same team on Wednesday.

"The players are still making some turnovers today," he was quoted by Antara as saying.

Indonesia's Chinese coach Wang Changyu said he was happy with the team's performance.

"I don't care about the results. The most important thing is that our team's performance is improving and they can improvise."

The team will have its final match against the junior Cantonese team in Canton, China, before flying to Hong Kong for more friendlies. (ivy)
