The Head of the Traffic Police Corps (Kakorlantas) of the Indonesian National Police Irjen Agus Suryonugroho stated that traffic on the third day of Operation Ketupat 2026 remains well-controlled with no significant congestion yet observed.

“We report to colleagues that the current traffic flow is sufficiently controlled. So no congestion is yet evident,” said Irjen Agus at the Traffic Police Command Centre at Km 29 Cikarang, West Java, on Sunday (15 March 2026).

Irjen Agus explained that there is indeed congestion at Gilimanuk Port due to queues waiting for ferry crossings. However, the Ministry of Transportation has already provided a solution regarding this matter.

“However, congestion does exist at Gilimanuk, but there is already a solution relating to the crossing between Ketapang and Gilimanuk,” he stated.

So far, 25 per cent of vehicles have left Jakarta. Irjen Agus explained that the police continue to ensure that those returning home can travel safely and comfortably to and from their hometowns during Operation Ketupat 2026.

“Clearly, we are not only present in the field, but we ensure that Operation Ketupat, both for the outbound and return journeys, so that people travelling from their homes or offices to their hometowns arrive safely and reach their destinations, meet their families and hometowns, and return safely as well,” he said.

Operation Ketupat 2026 is scheduled to run for two weeks, from 13 to 25 March 2026. Operation Ketupat 2026 carries the tagline ‘Safe Return Home, Happy Family’.
