Think of the people's needs
Think of the people's needs
From Pikiran Rakyat
After the increase in fuel prices, I have been questioning
what are our legislatures in the House of Representatives (DPR)
mean by "... for the sake of people", when speaking to the media.
Which people?
The aspiration of the people has not heeded by members of the
DPR. Earning sufficient income, they are not really affected by
the fuel hike. But, people who are not as affluent, like those
living in the outskirts of the city or villages, the fuel price
hike is an additional burden.
The savings from the reduced fuel subsidy, if enjoyed directly
by the people, will be more beneficial and meaningful. It would
be even more so if the funds were allocated for education and
health care. This has even been reported in the media.
