Thieves Break into University Safe in Mojokerto, Rp 1 Billion in Operational Funds Stolen

A group of thieves successfully broke into a safe belonging to KH Abdul Chalim University in Bendunganjati Village, Mojokerto. Approximately Rp 1 billion in university operational funds was stolen by the perpetrators. Bendunganjati Village Head Dadang Saifudin stated that the perpetrators are strongly suspected to have entered the campus through the Hikmatul Amanah (Hikam) Islamic Junior High School, which is located directly north of the university. “According to information from colleagues, it was recorded on CCTV from the Hikam field. The perpetrators wore face coverings,” Dadang said. From the CCTV footage, the burglary of the KH Abdul Chalim University safe lasted about 30 minutes on Wednesday (22/7), occurring between 3.18 a.m. and 3.48 a.m. Western Indonesian Time. “The information is that the stolen money amounted to more than Rp 1 billion. It was all university operational funds,” he explained. This high-value theft case has been reported to the police, who have since processed the crime scene, examined the CCTV footage, and questioned several university employees.
