Police have arrested Toto Rusdianto, also known as Billy (46), the thief who stole money from an elderly Nasi Uduk vendor in Bekasi. It turns out that Billy had previously snatched the bag of another Nasi Uduk vendor.

The snatching incident occurred a month earlier, on Friday, January 2nd, at around 8:00 AM on Jalan Sosial RT 02 RW 06, Jatiwaringin Village, Pondok Gede, Bekasi.

“A theft occurred, involving a tote bag containing the victim’s wallet and Rp 7.5 million in cash,” said the Head of Unit V of the Resmob Division of the Metro Jaya Police’s General Criminal Investigation Directorate, AKP Arief Ryzki Wicaksana, on Thursday, February 26th, 2026.

The perpetrator took the victim’s bag, which contained a wallet and money, that was hanging on the fence at the vendor’s stall. This incident was also recorded by CCTV and the video went viral on social media.

“As the perpetrator was about to flee on a motorcycle, the victim tried to stop him and grabbed his hand. However, the perpetrator sped off, the victim fell, and the perpetrator fled,” he said.

The victim’s child reported the incident to the Pondok Gede Police Station. A month later, Toto, also known as Billy, targeted another Nasi Uduk vendor.

The second theft occurred on Tuesday, February 17th, in the morning on Jalan Bulak Tinggi, Pondok Melati, Bekasi. The incident involving the elderly Atnah (65) attracted public sympathy.

“The perpetrator is a thief who uses the modus operandi of ordering Nasi Uduk and targeting vulnerable people, namely mothers or grandmothers, and then taking the money from their sales,” he said.

Toto, also known as Billy, was arrested on Friday, February 20th, at 5:40 AM on Jalan Kramat Utara RT 01 RW 04, Kampung Tengah Village, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta. He acted alone.

The suspect was then taken to the Sub-Directorate 3 of the Tahbang/Resmob Division of the Metro Jaya Police’s General Criminal Investigation Directorate for further investigation. The police confiscated evidence, including a motorcycle, the victim’s clothing, and CCTV footage.
