Thief dies in river

JAKARTA (JP): A motorcycle thief died on Saturday after
plunging into a river in an attempt to escape from an angry mob.

Komar bin Hasan, 30, of Bekasi, West Java, was chased by an
angry crowd after being seen stealing a Honda motorcycle in the
neighborhood.

A police officer said Komar first tried to escape by riding
the motorcycle, but later abandoned it and jumped into the
Cipamingkis River, in which he drowned. (05)
