Thesis Overload, Yet Winning Gold: UNM Students Shine at Pancasila Cup 2026
While many final-year students are busy with thesis revisions, oral exams, and graduation preparations, three Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM) students have successfully demonstrated that achievements do not cease simply because they are in their final semester. They impressed at the national Pancasila Cup 2026 Taekwondo Tournament held at GOR Ciracas in East Jakarta from 15 to 17 May 2026.
Destika Fitryana, Naufal Muzakki Ramadhan, and Kurniyawantoro brought pride to UNM, the Digital Business Campus, shining among approximately 1,200 competitors from across Indonesia. The prestigious competition featured categories for beginners, students, general public, and para athletes.
Amid academic pressures as final-year students, the trio maintained consistent training and focus for the national competition. Discipline, time management, and determination were key to balancing academic duties with sporting excellence.
This achievement proves that final-year students can remain active, productive, and successful with strong commitment to their goals.
UNM continues to foster student potential through various programmes, Student Activity Units (UKM), talent development, and support for national and international competitions. The campus emphasises not only academic strength but also character building, competitive mindset, and soft skills.
Student Affairs Coordinator Taopik Hidayat praised the final-year students’ accomplishment, which serves as positive inspiration for peers. Being a final-year student is no excuse to stop growing and achieving.
“Amid mounting academic responsibilities, students can still showcase their best potential with passion, discipline, and commitment,” he stated in a report received on Thursday, 28 May 2026.
He also affirmed that UNM will continue providing spaces for student development to thrive optimally in both academic and non-academic fields.
According to him, Destika, Naufal, and Kurniyawantoro’s success shows students can remain active and productive even during their final academic phase.
“We hope this achievement motivates other students to keep creating, compete boldly, and not fear trying various opportunities for success,” he added.
This success demonstrates that students’ fighting spirit is not determined by their academic semester. With determination, consistency, and a positive campus environment, UNM students can continue to achieve excellence while preparing for a brighter future.
