These Facts Reveal How Prophet Muhammad More Often Shared Good News
The Prophet Muhammad SAW encouraged his followers to convey glad tidings and forbade creating antipathy.
He said: “Convey glad tidings and do not drive people away. Make things easy and do not make them difficult.”
Hearing joyful news can increase a person’s enthusiasm to be earnest and diligent in performing acts of obedience. The Prophet SAW, for example, once conveyed glad tidings to Uthman bin Affan RA by saying:
“What Uthman does after this day will not harm him.”
That glad tiding further spurred Uthman RA to do good, virtue, and obedience.
Conveying glad tidings is also a form of moral support and reinforcement that is greatly needed. This is reflected in the attitude of Khadijah RA when the Prophet SAW experienced a difficult event. She said to him:
“Rejoice! By Allah, Allah will never disgrace you.”
