Jakarta (ANTARA) – Public mobility using sea transportation through passenger terminals managed by PT Pelindo Multi Terminal (SPMT), a subholding of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) operating in non-container terminal operations, was recorded to increase during the 2026 Lebaran transport period.

During the H-15 to H+15 period or 6 March to 5 April 2026, Pelindo Multi Terminal recorded a total passenger movement of 1,129,281 people. This figure rose 14.83 percent compared to the same period the previous year, which reached 983,454 people.

The peak of the outbound flow occurred on H-2 (19 March 2026) with 53,595 passengers, while the highest return flow peak was recorded on H+8 (29 March 2026) with 61,774 people.

From the total traffic, there were three passenger terminals with the busiest activity during the 2026 Lebaran transport period. Tanjung Balai Karimun recorded passenger movements of 268,777 people, followed by Terminal Gapura Surya Nusantara (GSN) located in the Tanjung Perak Port area with 267,678 people, and Tanjungpinang with 263,675 people.

VP of Corporate Communications at Pelindo Multi Terminal, Farid Chairmawan, explained that during the 2026 Lebaran transport period, the company managed 15 passenger terminals spread across various regions in Indonesia, covering Sumatra, Java, Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan, to Sulawesi.

“The Lebaran holiday momentum is synonymous with high public mobility. Therefore, we ensure operational readiness at all passenger terminals runs optimally, supported by cross-stakeholder coordination, as well as strengthening on-site services.
