These are Pertamina's Efforts to Face the Global Situation
Facing global dynamics and Middle East conflicts, PT Pertamina (Persero) has prepared various mitigation measures to maintain the availability of energy supplies. The global situation affects the world’s energy supply chain, thus requiring support from all parties to ensure the continuity of energy, including BBM and LPG.
Vice President of Corporate Communication at PT Pertamina (Persero), Muhammad Baron, stated that Pertamina has established various operational steps and scenarios to address the global situation. Pertamina is also striving to ensure that the supply and distribution of BBM and LPG to the public runs smoothly.
“As a national energy company, Pertamina has implemented mitigation plans and contingency plans to ensure that energy supplies continue to run well,” Baron said in a statement on Wednesday (18/3/2026).
Pertamina, he explained, has diversified its energy supply sources, so it does not depend on a single region or country. This strategy is expected to maintain supply stability when disruptions occur in distribution routes or geopolitical dynamics in certain areas.
Pertamina is also continuously strengthening coordination with the government to ensure the optimisation of national energy supplies and support strategic policies in the energy sector.
In maintaining energy distribution to the public, which is no less important, Pertamina continues to coordinate with law enforcement agencies and regional governments (pemda) to conduct field supervision of distribution.
“Pertamina, together with law enforcement agencies and pemda, continues to conduct field supervision to ensure that BBM and LPG distribution runs smoothly. We also support law enforcement against hoarding practices or misuse of energy,” Baron added.
The current global dynamics, Baron continued, are external factors that need to be addressed together by the government, businesses, and the public. Pertamina will continue to maximise various measures to maintain national energy availability.
As part of collective efforts to maintain energy resilience, Pertamina also urges the public to use energy, both BBM and LPG, wisely and to save according to needs.
The public can start utilising various energy alternatives in daily activities, such as using household electrical appliances for cooking or heating food, so that energy consumption is better managed.
“In line with the President’s appeal, Pertamina also invites the public to jointly use energy wisely as part of efforts to maintain national energy resilience,” Baron concluded.
