Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Agriculture Minister Amran Sulaiman said the government has prepared a national food-security strategy to withstand global geopolitical volatility. He noted that various scenarios have been designed since the start of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration. Amran said the government has accounted for the impacts of international conflicts on the food sector, including the Russia–Ukraine war and the Israel–Iran conflict.

‘Well, indeed we have prepared everything. We have designed the worst-case conditions for Indonesian agriculture because we already know there is Russia with Ukraine, and then Iran with Israel,’ Amran told reporters at a press conference at the Ministry of Agriculture in Jakarta on Friday (6 March 2026). He stressed that the planning has been in place since the early days of the Prabowo administration, in October 2024. ‘We have calculated all of that. Therefore the President has prepared since his inauguration. That’s why we remain calm,’ he said.

According to Amran, the government has prepared a range of steps to face potential worst-case scenarios so the national agricultural sector remains robust. ‘So, we have prepared every possible worst-case scenario. God willing, agriculture will be solid,’ he said. Amran also assured that domestic food production will not be disrupted by intensifying global tensions. ‘Oh, no. That will not happen. I guarantee it,’ he concluded.
