There Is a 'Ghost' Train Station in Jakarta, Don't Be Surprised by Its Appearance
The condition of Mampang Station (MPG), which has not been operational in the Menteng area of Jakarta, on Wednesday (15/4/2026). Stasiun Mampang, operated from 1922 until 2007, is no longer in service due to the low number of passengers boarding or alighting, as well as its location near Manggarai Station and Sudirman Station. Not operational since 2007, a portrait of the neglected Mampang Station building. Piles of rubbish are also visible in the corners of the remains of the Mampang Station building. Mampang Station was formerly an important part of the Tanah Abang–Jakarta Kota rail line. Now, Mampang Station has become a symbol of the changing face of transportation in Jakarta from era to era. Amid the ongoing development of the railway system modernisation, the existence of this station seems to serve as a reminder of the long history that is slowly being forgotten.
