There Are 5 Locations to Learn iPhone App Development in Indonesia, All Free
Apple has now opened five Apple Developer Academies scattered across Surabaya, Tangerang, Batam, and Jakarta. This expansion is focused on strengthening the national iOS app economy through training in artificial intelligence, developer operations, game development, entrepreneurship, and a professional developer community centre. Overall, the four initial locations will accommodate nearly 200 participants with specialised curricula, while an additional institute in Jakarta serves as a hub for professional developers. Apple emphasises that the presence of this Developer Institute is a continuation of the previously established Apple Developer Academy in Indonesia. The opening of the Apple Developer Academy in Indonesia represents a commitment from the iPhone manufacturer to meet the local content requirements for 4G devices sold in Indonesia. Instead of fulfilling the TKDN requirement by building factories, Apple has chosen to meet the investment criteria through the establishment of training centres. The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) requires all 4G products sold in Indonesia to have 40% TKDN. Apple itself has designed the five institutes with different focuses to address the needs of digital talent in various sectors. Here are the five locations of the Apple Developer Academy in Indonesia. 1. Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (Surabaya) This two-year programme is run in collaboration with Universitas Ciputra. Participants will learn the basics of AI/ML programming up to developing solutions with Indonesian companies. 2. Developer Operations (Tangerang) This eight-month programme is held with S-Quantum Engine from the Sinarmas Group. The curriculum covers cloud app launches, container-based system management, and large-scale implementations. 3. Game Development (Batam) This one-year programme is with Infinite Learning. The first six months focus on 2D and 3D game development, followed by market testing stages, publication strategies, and industry exhibitions. 4. Entrepreneurship (Jakarta) This startup incubation programme is run with RoketDigital. Participants will develop ideas from the prototype stage to ready-to-scale businesses. 5. Developer Professionals (Jakarta) The fifth institute serves as a professional developer community centre with BINUS University. Facilities include co-working spaces, industry networking, and a catalogue of courses from local and global partners. This institute brings together professional developers at various career stages for networking, learning, and innovation. Apple states that the presence of five Apple Developer Institutes and five Apple Developer Academies in Indonesia will form a comprehensive ecosystem.
