The World Must Punish Israel
We mourn the eight victims from the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) who were serving as UN peacekeeping troops in Lebanon. Three of our soldiers were killed, and five others sustained injuries. The Israeli military’s attack on the UN peacekeeping forces demonstrates that they consider themselves above the law. If we count since October 2024, the Israeli military has carried out 25 attacks on UN properties and peacekeeping personnel in Lebanon.
This repeated tragedy perpetrated by Israel appears to enjoy impunity. Just as they commit crimes against humanity in Gaza, Palestine. The world and the UN seem powerless to curb the crimes against humanity carried out by Israel.
The deaths of three TNI soldiers and injuries to five others must become a momentum for the UN to act more firmly and concretely against Israel, as proof that this organisation is still functioning. Through the Security Council, the International Court of Justice, the UN Secretary-General, and the nations of the world, several concrete steps must be taken, including:
- Israel’s repeated actions in Lebanon and Gaza are clear evidence of violations of the UN Charter and crimes against humanity. Therefore, I call on the UN Human Rights Council, and/or sovereign states, to bring Israel before the International Criminal Court (ICC) for Israel’s crimes that meet all four elements:
The crime of genocide, as regulated in Article 6 of the Rome Statute
Crimes against humanity, as regulated in Article 7 of the Rome Statute
War crimes, as regulated in Article 8 of the Rome Statute
The crime of aggression, specifically regarding the crime of aggression, which is not yet regulated in detail in the Rome Statute, and the Court will exercise jurisdiction after a provision is adopted in accordance with Articles 121 and 123 of the Rome Statute
Demanding direct accountability from Israel for the deaths of three TNI soldiers and injuries to five others in the form of: (1) acknowledgement of the attack, (2) an apology in an official UN forum, (3) stating readiness to be held accountable through ICC judicial mechanisms
Israel’s existence has become a burden on the world; calling on various countries to cut diplomatic relations and cooperation in various fields with Israel. Isolating Israel in relations with the nations of the world. Several European countries that were previously good partners of Israel have done this; I appreciate the Spanish government’s step to withdraw its ambassador from Israel, France and Denmark which rejected arms sales to Israel, and a number of other countries that have severed diplomatic relations
On 12 September 2025, the UN General Assembly held a session that took a stance on the two-state solution, Palestine and Israel as two standing states. Recognition of Palestine as a sovereign state by 142 members of the UN General Assembly out of 193 present countries. Thus, the Secretary-General and UN Security Council must as soon as possible implement that decision. This step is to anticipate Israel’s actions based on the cursed doctrine, which considers itself the chosen nation, and considers the territory of Israel and its surroundings as the promised land, thus feeling entitled to expand Israeli power.
The Jewish nation and the history of the State of Israel are indeed full of a history of violence. Even their prophets were killed by them. Prophet Zechariah AS and Prophet John AS were killed for delivering God’s message that contradicted the interests of the rulers. Prophet Isaiah AS, Jeremiah AS, and Amos AS were killed and persecuted for opposing religious deviations, political corruption, and injustice. If they are the chosen nation, they should purify the sins of the past through repentance. Bringing justice and humanity in the present. The Israeli people must demand their government do this, or they will be further ostracised by the world. Especially on social media, sentiment against Israel and Jews is increasingly widespread.
