The unique philosophy of seeds
The unique philosophy of seeds
JAKARTA (JP): Nobody will disagree that seeds are very
important. One robust Eucalyptus tree grows from a tiny vigorous
seed, and a good paddy field is raised from a top quality
seed lot.
Seeds are the beginning of everything. When building a family,
a parent will also choose the best "seed" for their child.
Starting with the best seed gives a 50 percent chance of success.
Although small, seeds are beautiful. They are mainly neglected
when everything is normal, but when things go wrong seeds are the
first to be blamed
"The seed was genetically untrue," they accusers will say, or,
"They are genetically of high quality, but the environment is not
very good."
If a family is broken, its members often blame the "seeds"
they grew from, or blame the environment for preventing those who
come from good seeds from surviving. They become aware of the
importance of seeds after a catastrophe occurs.
Seeds are very old. When our ancestors changed from being
nomads to farmers, they survived because of beautiful seeds.
The knowledge of how efficiently life is conserved is found in
seeds. Solar energy is "parasitized" by plants through
photosynthesis and is accumulated in seeds. The seeds store the
energy until conditions are favorable before germinating and
regenerating their species. Seeds transform and conserve energy
for future generations.
Looking at our kids, we are reminded that they are Indonesia's
"seeds", the future transformers of the nation's energy. If we
long for beautiful things we should look at seeds.
Seeds are a promise; we sow it today for tomorrow's yield.
Seeds are a pact of God, through which we have hope for our
future. A seed is optimism. No farmer will sow their seeds if
they have no hope for a good harvest.
