Three countries hold the most Golden Visa Indonesia in the records of the Directorate General of Immigration: the United States (US), China, and Taiwan. A total of 160 United States nationals have been granted Golden Visas, followed by China with 147 people, and Taiwan in third place with 110 people. The Golden Visa Indonesia is a residence permit issued to certain foreign nationals. This visa targets categories including corporate investors, individual investors, global talent, second homes, silver hair, personage, repatriation of former Indonesian Citizens (WNI) and their descendants, up to investors in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN). Holders enjoy residence for five to ten years, without the obligation to have a guarantor in Indonesia, facilities to bring family, and fast-track immigration services. The agency emphasised that while prioritising investment, the Golden Visa is implemented with the principle of selective policy. ‘We ensure that every visa holder meets security and legal compliance requirements, and contributes tangible benefits to national interests, in line with the immigration ethos for the people,’ the official said. The Golden Visa Indonesia was launched in mid-July 2024. As of Monday 18 May 2026, the Directorate General of Immigration had recorded investments totalling Rp52.1 trillion through the programme. The investment figure derives from the issuance of 1,274 Golden Visas, with the three largest investments coming from the Investor Company (Index E28D) category amounting to Rp50.8 trillion. Followed by the Investor Individual Not Establishing a Company (Index E28C) with Rp179.39 billion and the Investor Individual Establishing a Company (Index E28B) with Rp130.23 billion.
