The Sadistic Killer of Five Members of Haji Sahroni's Family Charged with Premeditated Murder

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, INDRAMAYU – Two defendants in the case of the murder of five members of Haji Sahroni’s family have been charged with premeditated murder. This was revealed during the first hearing of the case, held by the Indramayu District Court on Thursday, June 26, 2026.

The hearing, chaired by the presiding judge, Wimi D Simamarta, included the reading of the indictment by the public prosecutor against the two defendants.

The two defendants are Ririn Rifanto and Priyo Bagus Setiawan. Although they were initially brought into the courtroom together, they underwent separate trials because their case files were also prepared separately.

During the trial, public prosecutor Eko Supramurbada charged both with multiple articles, combining subsidiarity and cumulatively.

“We are charging both defendants, firstly with the primary charge of violating Article 459 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code, in conjunction with Article 20 paragraph C of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code,” said Eko.

Article 459 concerns premeditated murder. This action carries the consequence of a death penalty for the perpetrator.

The subsidiary charge against both defendants is Article 458 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code, in conjunction with Article 20 paragraph C of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
