The Role of the Police in the MBG Programme Needs Greater Public Awareness

A Tempo Data Science (TDS) survey shows that the role of the police in the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme is not widely known among the public, with an awareness level of 20.4%. However, among respondents who are aware, nearly 40% give a positive assessment of the police’s performance in the programme. This finding indicates that the police’s contributions to social programmes outside their primary duties are beginning to be appreciated, although stronger public communication is still needed to make it more widely known. The survey also shows that the public continues to position the police as the primary institution in maintaining security and law enforcement, which forms the main foundation for building public trust.
