SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is set to rename his company’s AI division, moving from SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI. This change follows pressure from US President Donald Trump to utilise the term ‘super intelligence’ (SI) instead of ‘artificial intelligence’ (AI).

Musk confirmed the rebranding from SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI when questioned by a user on X. “Yes, we will be making that change,” he replied, as reported by Reuters.

However, Musk did not provide further details regarding the rebranding, including when the transition will take place. Reuters reports that the SpaceXAI account remains unchanged, and the company has yet to officially respond to its CEO’s comments.

Trump urged the use of the term ‘Super Intelligence’ during his speech at the UN General Assembly last September. He stated that this move would change how the technology is perceived.

He ensured that all official US government documents would henceforth use the term ‘Super Intelligence’, expressing hope that other nations would follow suit. “The term ‘artificial intelligence’ is inaccurate and does not sound elegant,” Trump remarked. “From now on, all official United States documents will use a much more accurate term, ‘super intelligence.’ I hope other countries do the same.”
