THE OLD
CEMETRY:

This old cemetery located at Kebon Jahe, Tanah Abang, Central
Jakarta, was built during the Dutch colonial era. The 4,000
square meter cemetery has many valuable things, including marble
statues. The Jakarta provincial administration has found it
difficult to maintain the hostorical site due to financial and
security problems. Many of the marble statues, mostly of cupids
have been stolen with the security officers could arrest the
thieves. The wife of JP Coen, who made history on the finding on
malaria curement, was buried here.
