The New Board of Directors and Commissioners of Telkom (TLKM)
During the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS) for the 2025 fiscal year, PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) appointed Edwin Hidayat Abdullah and Anthony Leong as Commissioners and Independent Commissioners, respectively. These appointments serve as replacements for Rionald Silaban and Silmy Karim. Notably, Telkom did not implement any changes to its Board of Directors during this meeting.
According to Agung Harsoyo, a technology and digital policy observer from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), the current composition of Telkom’s Board of Commissioners and Directors represents a ‘dream team’ designed to accelerate Indonesia’s digital sovereignty agenda. This structure is also expected to ensure that the restructuring of state-owned telecommunications companies proceeds in line with President Prabowo’s directives, which aim for corporate streamlining under Danantara.
Furthermore, the presence of Edwin Hidayat Abdullah, who currently serves as the Director General of the Digital Ecosystem at the Ministry of Communication and Digital, is viewed by Agung as a way to strengthen the collaborative bridge between Telkom and the government under Minister Meutya Viada Hafid. This is expected to accelerate national digitalisation programmes and the development of the digital ecosystem.
Simultaneously, the leadership of Dian Siswarini, supported by Arthur Angelo Syailendra as Finance Director, is expected by the public to continue the improvement of Telkom as it faces significant challenges. Agung noted that Edwin’s entry provides significant added value, as his deep understanding of national digital policies—ranging from data centres and artificial intelligence to cloud computing—will be a vital asset in facing global competition.
With the presence of Edwin on the Board alongside Angga Raka Prabowo, who serves as both the Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital and the President Commissioner of Telkom, there is a strong belief in the continuity between corporate transformation and national policy. This synergy is expected to accelerate the implementation of the Ministry’s priority programme, T3 (Connected, Grown, and Protected).
As Indonesia’s largest digital state-owned enterprise, Telkom plays a central role in supporting national digital sovereignty. The market holds high expectations that Telkom will play a more aggressive role in building the national digital ecosystem and strengthening strategic digital infrastructure. Under President Prabowo’s vision, Telkom, operating under Danantara, is expected to become healthier, more efficient, and more competitive.
