The nation's struggle

We sincerely hail the holding of a one-day discussion which
adopts the theme: History of national struggle and preparation of
physical force in achieving Indonesian independence. The event
was organized by Bhakti Yudha Foundation in conjunction with
Technology, Strategy and Military magazine.

According to Dr. Roeslan Abdoel Gani, now we no longer face
the problems of colonialism, nor political discrimination but we
have to give meaning to our independence by carrying out
development. It is this context we want to underline Roeslan's
views that some intellectuals tend to be moving away from the
spirit of nationalistic solidarity, and indulge themselves in
caring for their own interest. This phenomenon is obviously not
conducive to the development as an implementation of Pancasila
ideal.

Therefore, every effort made to revive the spirit of the
national struggle through various forums is highly commendable.
