The Mystery of the Company Depositing Rp100 Billion with the Lampung High Prosecutor's Office Unravelled; Strongly Suspected to be PT Pemuka Sakti Manis Indah

Kupastuntas.co, Bandar Lampung – In relation to the case of alleged criminal conduct in the utilisation of forest areas for plantation activities in Way Kanan Regency, the company that deposited replacement funds of Rp100 billion with the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office is strongly suspected to be PT Pemuka Sakti Manis Indah (PSMI). A source told Kupastuntas.co that the company that deposited Rp100 billion with the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati Lampung) is PT Pemuka Sakti Manis Indah. The source said that the forest area managed in Way Kanan actually belonged to PT Inhutani V. Subsequently, PT Inhutani V handed over management rights to PT Silva Inhutani Lampung, a subsidiary of Bumi Waras (BW). However, the land under management was so extensive that Silva Inhutani Lampung could not utilise it all. The remaining land not yet managed by Silva Inhutani Lampung was given to PT PSMI, around 10,000 hectares, where it was planted with sugar cane, and thus PT PSMI is the sugar producer. The source added that due to dissatisfaction with the land allocation to PT PSMI, PT Silva Inhutani Lampung via BW reported the case to Bareskrim and the Attorney General’s Office. The case is now handled by the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office. As of yesterday, deposit of Rp100 billion as replacement funds by PT P or PT PSMI with the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office was disclosed. It transpired that PT PSMI holds a business licence to operate a sugar factory from the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) due to foreign direct investment (PMA). The site licence relates to the Land Use under the Spatial Plan (RTRW) and was issued by the Way Kanan Regency government.
