The menace of bus crime

The menace of bus crime

From Bisnis Indonesia

A friend of mine recently took a No. 86 Kopaja Bus to
Kalideres. The bus was packed with passengers so he had to stand
at the rear. No sooner had he boarded the bus than a passenger,
also standing, said to him roughly, "You are from Palembang,
aren't you?", and then, after forcefully grabbing his bag, looked
for my friend's identity card on the grounds that he might have a
knife on him. My friend could only let him do as he wished
because the man had a number of accomplices on the bus. To cut a
long story short, on that unfortunate day my friend lost his
cellular phone.

My friend later learnt that these thugs wanted to see his
identity card because if their robbery failed they could then pay
a visit to his house for revenge.

Bus passengers be on your guard. On-board crime is getting
more frequent.
