Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto has revealed that the meaning of Lebaran is victory after fasting for 30 days and optimism that the economy can surge ahead.

“The meaning of Lebaran is victory after fasting for 30 days,” he stated to the media at his official residence in Jakarta on Saturday (21/3/2026).

He also explained the meaning of victory in relation to the economy, where Airlangga is confident that Indonesia’s economy can grow by 5.5% in the first quarter of 2026.

“With this victory, we can achieve economic growth of 5.5 percent in the first quarter,” he said.

This confidence arises from various pro-growth government policies to encourage mobility and social assistance.

“Of course, the meaning of this victory is also related to the economy; the government has implemented many programmes, including discounts, promoting mobility through work from anywhere, and various other programmes including assistance,” Airlangga added.

The Coordinating Minister for the Economy also extended Eid al-Fitr greetings to the public while hoping that Indonesia can safely weather global turbulences.

“Happy Eid al-Fitr, forgiveness for both physical and spiritual shortcomings, and in this atmosphere, we certainly hope to face upcoming oil crisis turbulences together,” he concluded.
