The Longing for Divine Encounter: Following the Path of the Prophets

Among the greatest blessings that Allah SWT has prepared for a believer is the opportunity to meet Him. For those who truly know Allah, worldly life is not the ultimate goal, but rather a journey towards a grand meeting that has been long awaited. This longing to meet Allah is one of the characteristics of people with deep faith. This longing is not an empty wish, nor is it a desire to escape from life. It is born from love, gnosis, and strong conviction in Allah. The more a person knows their Lord, the greater their desire to meet Him. It is no wonder that the prophets and messengers, the chosen people who knew Allah best, were those who had the greatest longing for this meeting. The Prophet Muhammad SAW said: ‘There is no prophet but was given the choice between this world and that which is with Allah, and he chose that which is with Allah.’ (Narrated by Al-Bukhari). This hadith indicates that as their death approached, the prophets were given a choice by Allah between continuing life in this world or moving on to the life with Him. And without hesitation, all the prophets chose to meet Allah.
