'The Jakarta Post' wins AIDS awards
JAKARTA: The Jakarta Post daily won the first prize in a writing contest on teenage reproductive health held by AIDS Indonesia Foundation and the National Family Planning Board (BKKBN).
The awards were given on Saturday in conjunction with the commemoration of World AIDS day, which fell on Dec. 1.
The daily beat up to 23 other printed media over the quantity, quality and continuity of published articles on issues related to teenage reproductive health.
One of the daily's journalists also received first prize in the writing contest on such an issue, beating 19 others on aspects of investigation, accuracy, relevance and empathy in the newswriting. --JP
