The Internet King Remains Resilient Despite New Competitors, Here is the Proof

The global consumer research institution American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) has released its Customer Experience Benchmarks report, based on data collected in March 2026.

The research findings reveal that Google Gemini has successfully outperformed ChatGPT as the AI platform providing the highest level of user satisfaction.

In the report, the average user satisfaction index for the AI platform industry stands at 73. Google Gemini leads the pack with the highest satisfaction score of 76, defeating its main competitor, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which sits in the middle of the rankings.

The second position is held by Microsoft’s Copilot with a score of 74. Meanwhile, ChatGPT recorded a score of 73, equal to Anthropic’s Claude, placing it exactly at the industry average.

At the bottom of the rankings are X’s Grok and Perplexity AI, which both recorded satisfaction scores of 71.

In addition to assessing platform brands, ACSI measured Customer Experience Benchmarks Industry Trends indicators to determine the factors most responsible for driving user satisfaction and trust.

The research notes that complex task handling is the indicator that most satisfies users, achieving the highest score of 75. Interface look and feel, as well as the accuracy of results, were also key considerations, followed by platform trust levels and the personalisation capabilities of a platform.
