The Inspiring Journey: Three Deaf Women Secure Employment in Bandung

A touching story of perseverance has emerged from Bandung, West Java, capturing hearts across social media. Two deaf women, Hasna and Adel, have joyfully celebrated their acceptance into employment, with such enthusiasm that they even rushed to inform a local warung owner who had supported their journey. The story has garnered an outpouring of appreciation from social media users.

A viral video captured the emotional moment when Hasna and Adel, both deaf, learned they had been accepted to work at a Matahari Department Store outlet in Bandung. In an equally heartwarming development, their twin sister Hasni was also offered employment, albeit at a different location.

The three women from Bandung have received overwhelmingly positive responses from the online community. Despite their limitations, they remained undeterred in their job-seeking efforts, repeatedly submitting applications to various companies until finally securing opportunities to work. Their persistence has been rewarded with positions where they can contribute meaningfully in the workplace.

The mother of Hasna and Hasni, Fenti, expressed her profound pride and emotion. “I am deeply moved and proud,” she stated. “They have never complained about their situation. Every day they maintained their enthusiasm, submitting applications. Alhamdulillah, now there are results,” she remarked on Sunday, 1 March 2026.

Rosalina, a cousin of the twins, also expressed pride in their achievements. “They have proven that limitations are not an obstacle to success. I hope this can motivate other friends with disabilities,” she said.

Hasna, Hasni, and Adel have shared a message with fellow deaf individuals, urging them to remain determined and not give up. They are confident that many more companies are willing and open to employing persons with disabilities.

Whilst relatively new to their positions, their colleagues have expressed pride in working alongside them. Beyond the viral social media attention, the three have earned a reputation for being friendly, enthusiastic, and cheerful whilst serving customers at their workplace.
