JAKARTA (JP): Attending the General Session is apparently not
all work as some Assembly members were able yesterday to take
time off to do some personal shopping.

East Timor Governor Abilio Soares, who is a member of the
regional representatives faction, sneaked off during a break to
purchase a new blazer from the stands in one of the venue's side
halls.

Abilio bought a light-brown checkered blazer which, according
to the stand's attendant, cost "just" Rp 550,000 (US$58.50).

"He purchased an extra-large size," the attendant said as
quoted by Antara.

Abilio put the blazer on immediately, on top of his safari
suit, for a media interview. (mds)
