The Golo Mori Gains Traction as a Premium Destination Wedding Venue
PT Pengembangan Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), also known as InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), is expanding the premium event market at The Golo Mori through the development of the destination wedding segment. After successfully hosting its first destination wedding, the area was again entrusted by a couple from Surabaya to hold their entire wedding celebration. This trust signals that The Golo Mori’s appeal is increasingly reaching the national market, while strengthening the area’s business diversification strategy beyond Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE). The wedding, which took place on Saturday (27/6/2026), was the second destination wedding held at The Golo Mori. The entire series of events was conducted in an integrated manner within the area, starting with the blessing ceremony at Nuka Beach Club overlooking the Flores Sea, followed by the Tea Pai ceremony at Mori Lounge, and concluding with an evening reception at the Golo Convention Hall, attended by around 300 guests. The trust placed by the Surabaya-based couple to hold their wedding at The Golo Mori is a signal that the area is beginning to be considered a premium national-level wedding destination. Amidst the growing trend of destination weddings, this momentum further strengthens ITDC’s efforts to expand the area’s utilisation through various value-added special events. General Manager of The Golo Mori, Wahyuaji Munarwiyanto, stated that the development of destination wedding events demonstrates the widening market potential that The Golo Mori can reach, complementing the area’s position as a premium MICE destination in Eastern Indonesia. ‘The renewed trust placed in The Golo Mori shows that this area is increasingly known as a premium destination for various events. We see that the needs of organisers are now not only focused on the venue, but also on a comprehensive experience within a single destination. By combining the natural beauty of Flores, international-standard facilities, and integrated services, we aim to deliver event experiences that provide added value for every organiser and guest,’ said Aji. According to him, the growth of the destination wedding segment opens new opportunities for optimising the area through events beyond the MICE and state events that have been The Golo Mori’s main strengths. ‘In addition to strengthening our position as a MICE destination, the development of the destination wedding segment proves that The Golo Mori has the competitiveness to accommodate various premium-scale special events. The trust from couples outside East Nusa Tenggara is a signal that our market reach is expanding. We are optimistic that this diversification will further enhance the area’s attractiveness while making a positive contribution to the development of quality tourism in Labuan Bajo,’ he said. Destination weddings showcase The Golo Mori’s capability to provide a comprehensive event experience through a variety of integrated indoor and outdoor venue options within a single area. This concept offers organisers the flexibility to design the entire series of events without needing to change locations, creating a more comfortable and efficient experience for both organisers and guests. Responding to the growing destination wedding market, The Golo Mori is supported by banquet and catering services, collaborations with wedding organisers, and various professional vendors to deliver a seamless, efficient, and international-standard experience. The trust placed by the Surabaya couple in choosing The Golo Mori further strengthens the area’s potential to attract quality tourists, while supporting the growth of the tourism sector and regional economy through increased travel activity, accommodation, transportation, and the utilisation of various supporting tourism services in Labuan Bajo. Since its operation, the Golo Mori Convention Center (GMCC) has hosted various national and international events, including state events, business forums, conferences, meetings, seminars, exhibitions, cultural performances, gala dinners, destination weddings, and commercial photo and video productions. With a capacity of up to 2,000 people and supported by global-standard facilities, GMCC continues to strengthen its role as a premier venue for MICE and special events in Eastern Indonesia, while supporting the development of The Golo Mori as a Sustainable Marine-Based MICE Tourism Destination.
