The Future of Investment: RWA Tokenisation Explosively Grows to US$32 Billion

The asset tokenisation sector, or Real-World Assets (RWA), is now becoming the new darling of the global financial world. Based on the latest data from RWA.xyz as of 17 June 2026, the market capitalisation of this sector has penetrated a fantastic figure of US$32.38 billion. This surge is classified as very aggressive considering that at the beginning of 2024, its value had only touched US$1.8 billion. This exponential growth is triggered by massive adoption from the world’s giant financial institutions and the high interest of retail investors in more flexible global market access. Asset tokenisation itself is a digital representation of physical assets such as US stocks, bonds, and gold issued in the form of tokens on a blockchain network with a 1:1 value ratio. The presence of major players such as BlackRock, JPMorgan, and Goldman Sachs reinforces the position of tokenisation as the foundation of future financial infrastructure. In fact, the renowned research firm McKinsey & Company projects the capitalisation of this sector could reach $2 trillion by 2030. This innovation breaks down the boundaries of conventional investment. If previously global stock investment or gold bullion required large capital and complicated bureaucracy, now retail investors can access it easily. In Indonesia, the Pintu application has facilitated investment in tokenized assets such as Apple and Nvidia stocks, as well as physical gold (PAXG) with capital starting from just Rp11,000. In Indonesia, the adoption of asset tokenisation has obtained a clear legal umbrella. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has inaugurated the regulatory framework through POJK Number 27 of 2024 and POJK 23/2025. Globally, authority institutions such as The Fed and the SEC have also given the green light for the operation of this type of asset. Asset tokenisation is proven not to be just a momentary trend, but a real evolution that combines the stability of real-world assets with the efficiency of blockchain technology. With increasingly mature regulations, RWA is predicted to continue to be the most promising sector in the global crypto asset ecosystem.
