The first permanent housing units (huntap) for disaster survivors in West Sumatra began construction on Saturday, 7 March 2026, in Kampung Talang, Koto Tuo, Pauh, Padang. The Padang city government, in collaboration with Kadin Indonesia, with support from state-owned enterprises (BUMN), regional state-owned enterprises (BUMD), and the TNI-Polri, along with donors, is building ten huntap for ten heads of households who survived the disaster in November 2025. These ten units will constitute the first huntap to be established in the province.
