The Fate of Dadan Hindayana Changes within 24 Hours, from Head of BGN to Attorney General's Office Detainee
The fate of Dadan Hindability has changed drastically in just 24 hours. The figure who, as of Tuesday (2/6/2026), still served as the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), suddenly became the centre of public attention after being dismissed by President Prabowo Subianto, and was subsequently caught up in legal proceedings conducted by the Attorney General’s Office the following day.
Dadan’s career trajectory at the helm of the BGN ended after President Prabowo initiated a major reshuffle within the agency responsible for implementing the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme. The decision was announced directly by the Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, on Tuesday evening.
According to reports on Wednesday, 3 June 2026, the Government stated that the leadership change was part of an evaluation of the BGN’s performance over the past nearly two years. To replace Dadan, the President appointed Nanik S. Deyang to lead the agency. Additionally, two deputy head positions were also replaced as part of the restructuring.
At the time the dismissal was announced, few suspected that even more shocking developments would occur the next day. On Wednesday (3/6/2026), the Attorney General’s Office conducted a raid at the BGN headquarters in the Kebon Sirih area, Central Jakarta. The raid immediately triggered widespread speculation, as it took place only hours after the change in leadership was made public.
Several sources indicated that investigators from the Attorney General’s Office’s Special Crimes division are currently investigating alleged cases related to governance within the BGN. However, as the raid unfolded, the Attorney General’s Office had not yet disclosed the specific details of the case being investigated or the evidence being focused on during the investigation.
Shortly after the raid, information emerged that Dadan Hindayana had been taken into custody by investigators. Circulating reports suggest that the former Head of the BGN is being questioned alongside several other former high-ranking officials regarding the case being investigated by law enforcement.
These developments have shocked the public. Dadan was previously known as an academic and entomology expert from the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) who was entrusted to lead the BGN since the agency’s formation in 2024. He had been a key figure in the implementation of the government’s flagship programme regarding national nutritional fulfilment.
