The Core Issue of Rismon Sianipar and Jusuf Kalla: From Video to Bareskrim

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - A video circulating on social media narrates allegations by Rismon Sianipar against Indonesia’s 10th and 12th Vice President, Jusuf Kalla (JK). The video contains a narration in which Rismon is said to accuse JK of providing funds amounting to Rp 5 billion to Roy Suryo and his associates to litigate the diploma of Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo. The issue continued to develop, leading JK to respond in front of journalists during a press conference at his residence in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Sunday (5/4/2026). “I have never been involved in such matters and have never assisted or done anything in any way for Roy Suryo and Rismon. Moreover, I have never met them. If we have ever met, where and when?” JK stated. Abdul revealed that JK intends to file a Police Report (LP) regarding the alleged defamation and slander case. This is because, in the narration circulating on social media, Rismon is said to have accused JK of funding the former Minister of Youth and Sports, Roy Suryo, with Rp 5 billion to challenge the diploma of Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Rismon’s side denied the claims, stating the video is an AI fabrication. Upon hearing that the case has been taken to Bareskrim, Rismon’s legal representative, Jahmada Girsang, stated that the video attributed to JK is an imitation fabricated by artificial intelligence (AI). “It’s all AI-generated. Rismon never mentioned Mr JK’s name,” Jahmada Girsang said when contacted on Monday.
