The Blind Warrior Game Set to Showcase at Tokyo Game Show 2026
The legendary silat character created by Ganes TH in 1967, ‘Si Buta dari Gua Hantu’, is now expanding into the digital world through a new video game titled The Blind Warrior. Developed by Rizero Studios, the game adapts the iconic tale of Barda Mandrawata into a modern action-adventure format.
Based on information from the Steam platform on Friday (4/9/2026), The Blind Warrior features a third-person perspective. The game is set in Java during the 1860s, specifically during the era of the Dutch East Indies colonial period.
Players will take on the role of Barda, a blind warrior who relies on the sharpness of his other senses to fight. In his mission to avenge the destruction of his village, Barda will face various challenges ranging from enemy troops and bandits to magical forces.
Rizero Studios has been selected to be part of the ‘Games From Jakarta’ delegation. This pavilion programme is an initiative supported by the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf DKI Jakarta) and the Indonesian Game Association (AGI).
Through this support, The Blind Warrior will be introduced internationally at the prestigious Tokyo Game Show 2026. This world-class game industry exhibition is scheduled to take place over five days, from Thursday (17/9) to Monday (21/9) at Makuhari Messe, Chiba, Japan.
Currently, The Blind Warrior’s store page is available on Steam. Although the official release date and demo version are still awaiting further announcements, players can already add the game to their wishlists to monitor its latest developments.
This adaptation into a game adds to the growing list of successes for the ‘Si Buta dari Gua Hantu’ intellectual property (IP). To date, the story has recorded over 180 comic volumes with a readership of more than 20 million people. Additionally, the work has been adapted into 9 feature films and 86 television series episodes.
