The Bank Bali soap opera

The Bank Bali soap opera

Like it or not, the Bank Bali scandal has turned into a soap
opera, with the players in the scandal being slippery as soap.
Each new revelation is immediately overtaken by another one. New
episodes follow one after the other without end.

Now that the PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) audit has been made
public -- after months were wasted debating the question of
whether it was proper to release the report -- a new problem has
arisen: people are questioning the authenticity of the recently
released report.

Furthermore, one page (pg. 54) is reported to be missing.
Could it be that PwC submitted the wrong report to the
government? And that's not the end of it. Two current Cabinet
ministers are said to have received some of the money related to
the scandal. Oddly, their names are not included in the report.

Whatever the problems, we have only one hope: that enough has
been said about the PwC report. Stop this unproductive exchange
and get to the heart of the issue by investigating those people
who are mentioned in the audit. Stop playing with words and start
working.
