The Assembly of Experts Has Agreed on Khamenei's Succession, to Be Announced Soon

Tehran – Ahmad Alamolhoda, a member of Iran’s Assembly of Experts, said on Sunday that the Assembly has made a decision and chosen the Supreme Leader’s successor, who was killed by the United States and Israel. The Secretariat of the Assembly will formally announce the name of the new leader. As reported by Al Jazeera Arabic, Alamolhoda explained that no member of the council is entitled to change their opinion under the constitution. Earlier today, the latest reports from Tehran indicated that the Assembly of Experts, the constitutional body responsible for selecting Iran’s Supreme Leader, had determined the choice of the person who is the ‘most suitable’ to take the position. Ayatollah Mohammad Mahdi Mirbagheri, a member of the council, said the majority of council members had reached a consensus on the successor to the late Supreme Leader. Fars News Agency revealed that the internal selection process has been carried out, and the announcement of the name is now just a matter of time, given the majority’s agreement on the identity of the new leadership has been achieved.
