The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum begins this week
The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum begins this week
in the southern port city of Busan with the Senior Officials'
Meeting on Saturday, and will go on to the Leaders' Meeting on
Nov. 18-19 which will gather the heads of states and governments
from 21 countries in the broad Asia-Pacific region.
We urge our capable economic officials to prepare a truly
workable document by presenting clearly measurable targets with
careful consideration of the situations and systems of all member
economies which feature far greater diversity than any other
economic entities.
There are numerous other tasks for the hosting officials,
including providing security for not only the 20 foreign
government leaders but some 6,000 supporting personnel.
Unreserved help from civic groups and individual citizens are
called for.
