The arrogance of legislative bodies
The arrogance of legislative bodies
Pretending to be powerful, which happens to be an affliction
of the conceited or arrogant, is common not only in the country's
capital city, but also in the provinces.
East Java's Provincial Legislative Council's (DPRD) move to
discharge Surabaya Mayor Bambang Dwi Hartono, shows arrogance and
dictatorial behavior.
The decision made by the legislative council has led to a
conflict among state institutions. In this case, Minister of Home
Affairs Hari Sabarno has said that the central government
continues to recognize Bambang Dwi Hartono as mayor. He even
requested Bambang to continue carrying out his tasks as mayor.
Acts of arrogance could also happen to political parties,
factions, commissions and members of the House of Representatives
(DPR). This arrogance is ready to commit character assassination
against any executive, even a minister.
The legislative council has become a new dictator, as if it
has the power, although the fact is that it has failed to solve
problems.
What the legislative body committed was done on behalf of the
people.
