The Amstel Trio

The Amstel Trio

The Amstel Trio is one of six musical ensembles currently in
the country performing at a festival representing six of the
European Union's 15 member countries. This unique group of
musicians presents harmonious musical arrangements without each
member losing his or her individual character.

The European Union Music Festival: Music of the 20th Century
is being held from Feb. 10 through to April, 1999, at various
locations in some of Indonesia's major cities (Jakarta, Bandung,
Yogyakarta and Surabaya).

The Amstel Trio first performed here on Wednesday, Feb. 10,
1999, at Erasmus Huis, Jakarta.

This is the second such festival staged in Indonesia; the
first one was held in 1996. The Amstel Trio comprises Tan Crone
on piano, Marien van Staalen on cello and Remco Roovers singing
baritone.
