The Adipura award is now being directed to serve as a comprehensive evaluation instrument for regional waste management performance, rather than merely a symbol of a visually clean city.

The assessment has been expanded to cover waste sorting systems from the source, waste generation reduction, waste processing, and commitments to ending open dumping practices at Final Processing Sites (TPA).

This approach encourages local governments to build equitable and sustainable governance systems, ensuring that cleanliness is not only visible in city centres but also felt across entire jurisdictions.
