The Padjadjaran Public Relations Fair (PPRF) was held again by the Public Relations Student Association on 20-21 May 2026 at Universitas Padjadjaran, Jatinangor. This prestigious international-scale event once again invited all students, particularly communication students, to join and contribute to efforts resolving national issues. This year marked the 14th consecutive PPRF. Over the years, PPRF has become a gathering space for students from across Indonesia and the world to compete. Students were challenged to participate in solving a predetermined national issue through a communication approach, specifically from a public relations perspective. This year, PPRF was attended by several prominent Indonesian universities, including Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Universitas Diponegoro, President University, Telkom University, and of course Universitas Padjadjaran. The national issue that became the focus of this year’s PPRF was raised through the theme ‘Breaking the Cycle of Harmful Family; Understanding the Multiple Roots of Violence Against Children’. This theme was chosen due to the urgency of child abuse cases in Indonesia, particularly those perpetrated by parents. Through this theme, participants were expected to produce communication solutions to stop violence against children and eliminate the chain of violence in families. The mission of The 14th PPRF began with an online talk show via Zoom, attended by competition participants and open to the public. The talk show, held on 29 April 2026, featured Kak Seto Mulyadi (Chairman of the Indonesian Child Protection Agency), Muhammad Ihsan (Assistant Deputy for Formulation and Coordination of Special Child Protection Policy at the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection), Untung Bimo (Public Relations and Communication Manager of SOS Children’s Villages Indonesia), and Retasari Dewi (Public Relations Lecturer at the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran) as speakers. Through the talk show theme ‘Ending The Cycle of Violence Empowering The Future’, participants were invited to better understand the root problems and the role of communication in stopping violence against children. As in previous years, PPRF was divided into two competition series accommodating student solutions to national issues: OlymPRDay and PRodcast. OlymPRDay is a competition for drafting communication strategy proposals from a public relations perspective, emphasising analytical, strategic, and creative abilities to present cases and create solutions for national issues. PRodcast is an audio-visual competition serving as a strategic communication tool, challenging students to produce podcast content focusing on public speaking, storytelling, and creativity. The main event of The 14th PPRF began with the first stage of the OlymPRDay competition on 20 May 2026. The sub-theme was ‘Addressing Emotional Violence in Parenting Through Strategic Collaboration’. Six teams from three different universities that had passed the preliminary round presented their research and analysis on the national issue. The challenge on the first day was to present their results in just 6 minutes and 40 seconds before the judges. On the second day, participants presented their results again to the judges and audience, this time including communication solutions based on the issues they had identified. Over two days, judges assessed participants according to their respective fields, including FX Ari Agung Prastowo (Public Relations Lecturer at Universitas Padjadjaran), Tri Utami (First Public Relations Expert at DP3AKB West Java Province), Jojo S. Nugroho (Managing Director of Imogen PR Indonesia), and Titik Suhariyati (Secretary General of the Indonesian Child Protection Agency). The PRodcast final session was held over one day on 21 May 2026. After a selection stage, six teams from four universities presented their work before judges. Under the sub-theme ‘Breaking The Violence in Parenting and the Realities Behind It’, participants showcased their podcast development outputs. The works were judged by Anwar Sani (Lecturer and Head of Public Relations Study Programme at Universitas Padjadjaran), Dewi Fitriyani (Young Expert Social Counsellor at DP3AKB West Java Province), Lintang Cakrabuana Nugraha (Announcer at Ardan Radio), and Febdi Hermawan (Clinical Psychologist at the Indonesian Child Protection Agency). This year is not the final journey for PPRF in facilitating students to help resolve national issues. Next year, PPRF will return for its 15th edition, once again carrying a theme relevant to existing national issues.
