Thais join RI family planning program

JAKARTA: A Thai mission led by the country's public health minister are attending a four-day program on the roles of Muslim leaders and family planning in Indonesia, which began on Thursday.

During the program which is run by the National Family Planning Coordinating Board (BKKBN), 69 delegates, mostly Thai Muslim leaders, will observe and conduct a field visit to Jakarta, Yogyakarta and Bali, the BKKBN said in its release.

Local Muslim leaders, including those from Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), Muhammadiyah and the Indonesia Ulemas Council (MUI), are expected to share their experience in supporting the implementation of family planning to the Thai delegates. -- JP
