Thailand's consumer confidence down
BANGKOK: Consumer confidence in Thailand has dropped for a
sixth consecutive month amid concerns over rising oil prices and
continued unrest in the Muslim majority south of the country,
according to a survey released on Friday.
Three different measures showing consumer confidence in the
current state of the economy and in its prospects and those of
the job market over the next six months all showed falls from May
to June, according to the study by the University of the Thai
Chamber of Commerce in Bangkok.
The overall consumer confidence index in June was at 100.6
points compared to 102.5 points in May, according to the monthly
survey of some 2,127 people across the country. -- AFP
