Thailand turns to Brazilian coach
BANGKOK (Reuters): Thai soccer officials were set to re- appoint Brazilian Carlos Alberto Carvalho as coach of the national team on Tuesday following the resignation of Vittaya Laohakul.
Vittaya, team manager Thirachai Vuthitham and all other connected officials stepped down after the team's farcical display in a Tiger Cup match against Indonesia last week.
Carvalho, who coached Thailand to fourth place in the Asian Games in Beijing in 1994, is expected to sign the coaching contract soon, a spokesman for the association told Reuters.
