Thailand expects $6b from tourism
BANGKOK (AFP): The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) says
some 6.2 million tourists will come to the "Land of Smiles" this
calendar year, and it expects them to leave behind US$6 billion.
That would be an increase from the 5.76 million tourist
arrivals in 1993 and would exceed earlier projections of six
million tourists for this year, TAT figures show.
But it would be less than the targets of 6.3 million tourist
arrivals and $7.4 billion in tourism revenue for this year.
