BANGKOK (Reuters): North Korea has invited a Thai delegation to visit Pyongyang next month for talks on a range of economic and trade issues, a senior Thai official said on Monday.
Kobsak had been speaking on the sidelines of a two-day meeting of foreign ministers from the 10-member Association of South East Asian Nations in Bangkok.
A North Korean delegation is expected to arrive in the Thai capital late on Tuesday to take part for the first time in dialogue at the ASEAN Regional Forum, Asia's only arena for security issues outside the United Nations.
Thai Foreign Minister Surin Pitsuwan said North Korea's meeting ASEAN and other regional partners was a good sign for regional security and cooperation.
