Thai PM Anutin Charnvirakul Arrives in Jakarta for State Visit

Jakarta (ANTARA) — Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul arrived at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta on Monday afternoon to begin a two-day state visit to Indonesia.

As monitored via the Presidential Secretariat’s live YouTube broadcast in Jakarta on Monday, PM Anutin Charnvirakul arrived in Jakarta at around 4.14pm local time and was welcomed by Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Djamari Chaniago.

The two then shook hands and walked together past the Guard of Honour before watching a dance performance.

After the welcoming ceremony, Minister Djamari escorted PM Anutin Charnvirakul to the state car. Minister Djamari paid his respects before the Thai Prime Minister departed Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base for the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.

President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to receive the official visit of Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Monday at 4.30pm local time.

PM Charnvirakul’s official visit to Jakarta today is his first since he was officially sworn in as Thailand’s 32nd prime minister in September 2025. The visit also marks the first by a Thai prime minister in 15 years.

At the meeting at the Merdeka Palace, the two leaders are scheduled to launch the Indonesia-Thailand Strategic Partnership Roadmap 2026–2030. The cooperation document focuses on three main areas: security, economic development, and socio-cultural affairs.

After concluding his agenda at the Merdeka Palace, the Thai Prime Minister is also scheduled to attend a Thailand-Indonesia business forum. PM Anutin is likewise scheduled to deliver a speech at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, addressing the main theme of ASEAN’s future.

The Thai Prime Minister’s visit to Jakarta takes place on 3–4 August 2026.
