Thai car sales up 24.7% in April
BANGKOK: Thai domestic car sales jumped 24.7 percent in April boosted by growing consumer confidence and driven by a successful recent motor show in Bangkok, the industry said on Thursday.
The month's auto sales totaled 51,315, topping the 50,000 mark for the second consecutive month and shrugging off concerns at an explosion of violence in the south that has rattled the nation, industry compiler Toyota Motor Thailand said.
"Car sales continued to grow along with consumer confidence, while the unrest in the three southernmost provinces has not significantly affected consumer purchasing decisions," it said in a statement. -- AFP
